In the footsteps of the first tourists - walking crossing of the central Brda Mountains
Strašice, museum, folk architecture.
We will start our walking tour of the central Brda in the historical centre of Příbram (T. G. Masaryk Square). Follow the green trail to Orlov, leave the green trail and continue left along the forest path past the U Slaniny grove to the Pilský pond and the U Pilské studánky crossroads. Then keep to the green and through Bor , past the peak Koruna (here a turn to the peak) we descend to the crossroads Tři Trubky. From there, follow the blue trail past the romantic Tři Trubky Chateau (here the House of Nature of Brda, opened in 2023) to reach Strasice.
According to Hrabák's Guide to Příbram and its surroundings from 1893, the Austro-Hungarian tourists, fortified with "a bottle of strong wine or cognac and a piece of salami with a roll", set off from Strašice to Mýto (today on the red trail) to the train station in the evening. They then took the train back to Pribram at night via Zdice. The journey from Příbram to the station in Mýto, including a stop at Koruna, is said to have taken about 8 hours. But "a good pedestrian can easily make it an hour earlier".
