How to enjoy summer days with children in Příbram?
Příbram is a city with a lot of cultural and leisure activities. Whether you are visiting or living here, there are many ways to enjoy a pleasant day out.
We bring you options for spending a pleasant day with your children in Příbram.
Hot summer days are very attractive to visit the swimming pool. The Aquapark is located in the centre of the town and from June you can use the outdoor swimming pool. Although the indoor waterpark will be closed from the beginning of August, the opening hours of the outdoor area will be extended. In July and August, the "outdoor pool" will be open from6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p. m. on weekdays and from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekends and public holidays, but always depending on the current weather conditions. Opening hours in June are the same as last year, i.e. from 1pm to 7pm on weekdays and from 11am to 7pm on weekends, weather permitting. In addition to the 50-metre pool, the "venkáč" also offers a children's pool, a playground, refreshments and large grassy areas. The added value of the area is the mature trees that provide visitors with pleasant shade. There are also two beach volleyball courts right on the premises; renting a court costs CZK 200 per hour and CZK 30 per player.
Aquapark Příbram will also offer animation programmes for children at the outdoor pool every holiday Thursday from 14.00 to 17.00. SZM thus attracts water fun, competitions and games under the supervision of experienced animators.
Another fun option for summer days is a visit to the Mining Museum. Příbram is known for its long mining history, and the museum's exhibitions are designed for both young and old visitors. The individual expositions in Příbram at Březové Hory present the history of local mining and metallurgy from prehistoric times to the present day, introduce the mining ethnography and also offer a tour of unique samples from the Březové Hory silver-ore district, the Příbram uranium deposit and the Podbrdské iron mining area. A great attraction, especially for children, is the opportunity to take a ride on the Prokopská Štolá mine train to the mouth of the Prokopská pit in the Březohorské ore district, which is one of the deepest in Central Europe.
Don't want to go to the museum when it's so beautiful, but don't feel like swimming? Take advantage of one of the cycle paths that lead around Příbram. You will enjoy not only the beautiful nature, but also the views of the surrounding area. You can choose from several cycle paths that vary in length. The shortest one leads from the Mining Museum in Příbram, through the town centre to Svatá Hora. Then you can continue through Lešetice to the War Memorial, which is dedicated to the victims of communism, and from there you will return to Příbram via Zdabor.
Theice rink is not lagging behind and has prepared public skating for children for the summer. Each skating date will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the following days: 29 June, 30 June, 6 July, 7 July, 13 July, 14 July, 20 July, 21 July, 3 August, 4 August, 10 August, 11 August, 24 August and 25 August.
The Nový rybník area will host face painting every Wednesday from 3 p.m. where children can transform their faces into their favourite fairy tale characters, animals or heroes. This will be followed by a mini-disco from 6pm, where children can enjoy dancing and music.
For activities in the Aquapark, the ice rink and the New Pond area, children can take advantage of a discount from the PasSport Summer 2024 holiday game.
