Prokop Mining Fair
Březové Hory will become the main venue of the Prokopská pilgrimage this weekend, which has been held for the 35th time in modern history. It is the largest and most famous mining fair, which includes the traditional parades of squatting and the Mining Parade, music, dance and theatre performances, a market and fairground attractions.
The programme of the Prokopská pilgrimage begins on Saturday, 6 July at 14.00, both at the J. A. Alice Square in Březohorské náměstí and at the nearby Marie Mine. You can look forward to a rich programme that will run until the evening hours. In the evening, the first of the carnival processions, the so-called "čepobití", will take off. The parade will start at 9 p.m. from T. G. Masaryk Square and the destination is the aforementioned J. A. Alis Square.
Sunday's programme starts with the Miners' Parade - a festive parade of miners, which will again start from T. G. Masaryk Square at 9.00. After arriving at Březové Hory, a field mass will follow in front of the Church of St. Procopius. On Sunday, a programme is also prepared at Březové Hory, where the Mining Museum will be added to the venues, i.e. the square and the Marie Mine.
At 2 p.m. in the courtyard of the Ševčinský Mine, period sketches on the theme of the struggle for silver to purchase a steam mining machine in 1914 will be performed, with performances by the Tomáš Bílek Theatre and other performers engaged in presenting historical events. Entrance to the individual exhibitions, including the underground of the Mining Museum Příbram, will be available throughout the day for a symbolic one crown.
The firefighting exhibition in the Marie Mine will also be open for visitors on these days.
