With children
Families with children will also find something to do in Příbram throughout the year. On warm days, children can play in the New Pond or explore the surrounding nature, while during cold weather it is ideal to visit the Mining Museum Příbram or Svatá Hora.
1. TO THE MINES AMONG THE PERIMONEES
ThePříbram Mining Museum offers a number of sightseeing tours that can be adapted for the youngest visitors - however, for safety reasons, entry to the underground is only possible for children aged 3 and over. Children can learn about the life of miners and work in the mines in a fun way. And maybe they will even meet the gnomes. A great experience for them will be a ride on the mine train, which will take you between the Ševčinský and Vojtěšský mines or through the Prokopská adit from the Anna mine. Visitors to the Drkolnov Mine waterwheel can take on the role of medieval miners and ride down a fifty-metre long slide into the waterwheel chamber.
2. THE HISTORY OF THE PILGRIMAGE SITE
The Baroque pilgrimage site of Svatá Hora is also open to families with children. In addition to a tour of the site, during which children can work with an interactive quiz or educational worksheets, be sure to visit the St. Mary's Mountain Pilgrimage Museum. The permanent exhibition here includes a screening of an animated film for children, which will introduce them to the main events in the history of the pilgrimage site. Children will also draw their own design for the dress for the love statue of the Virgin Mary.
3. A CHILD'S DREAM COME TRUE
The Nový rybník area offers activities for young and old alike. You will find a natural swimming pool, skate park, adventure golf or an in-line track. Children can enjoy the water and Reed's playground. They can have fun on the two air trampolines, walk along the adventure trail through the littoral zone or visit the local zoo. There is also a hobbit village for the little ones. Entrance to the area is free.
4. DISCOVERING LOCAL NATURE
If you are attracted by nature, take a walk in one of Pribram's forest parks. The Litavka Forest Park Nature Trail includes twelve stops, and there are various fun tasks, quizzes and trivia for children on the information boards. The Parachute Nature Trail consists of eleven stops, and children will learn about the functions of the landscape and the forest in the ecosystem through play and educational elements. For example, they can learn to identify deciduous and coniferous trees, play the dendrophone, count the rings of the year or trace the footprints of forest animals in the sand. Find out more here.
5. PLAYING IN THE BRD
With countless roads criss-crossing the Brda Protected Landscape Area, you can take a short walk into the deep Brda forests even with a stroller. From Orlov, where you can see the wooden statue of the Brda spirit Fabian, continue to the U Slatiny grove. There is a deer enclosure near it. If you continue on your way, you will reach the Pilský Pond. The path to the reservoir and back to Orlov is about 6 km long. A similar trip around the grove to the Pilská reservoir can be made from nearby Kozičín.
