In the new "House of Culture" a very modern wide-screen cinema "MÍR"was built in 1959.
The MÍR cinema had 420 seats and screened every day at 5.30 pm and 8 pm. Films for children and young people were shown on Wednesdays at 15.00, Saturdays at 15.00 and Sundays at 10.00 and 15.00. Playing profile of the cinema - 18 performances per week.
Since 1 January 2005, by the decision of the town, the operation of the Mír Cinema - now only the "Příbram" cinema - was transferred to the A. Dvořák Příbram Theatre. The first managers of the cinema were from 1 January 2005 to 30 June 2005 pp. Šmejkal and Rybka. From 1 July 2005 to 30 June 2014 the manager was Mr. Petr Rybka. From 1 July 2014, Mr. Martin Machata became the manager. In 2007 and 2009 the cinema was reconstructed and modernised and is now fully digital in 2D format. In 2016 the cinema was renovated and upgraded to 3D projection. The hall of the Příbram cinema - with 259 seats, including 5 double seats - is ready not only for screenings, but also for conferences, lectures, presentations or concerts. We also offer the possibility of refreshments for events. Possibility of digital image and sound reproduction (Blu-ray, DVD, CD, PC, 2D and 3D image projection).
